Congratulations to Michigan companies Broadco and Extreme Supplies on the purchase of a Diesel 500 and Diesel 330 unit respectively. Broadco is working on the east coast with theirs and Extreme added our unit to their rental fleet to replace another brand unit that had failed.

Now is the time for business owners to plan for equipment purchases for this coming winter water damage season. Owners and purchasers need to know where their supplies and emergency orders will come from when the big freeze hits. With the lean summer, most companies haven’t been purchasing in small increments this past year. So it is important to know where to turn for emergency water damage drying equipment when the time arrives. For larger purchases such as a DrySmart 330 or DrySmart 500, planning for lead time needs to take place. With a 5 week order cycle, buyers need to place orders in November to have their unit delivered by freeze season. Fortunately, DrySmart also offers a rental network of companies who are prepared to dry buildings on a short notice. This is an excellent option for smaller companies that aren’t quite ready to purchase a DrySmart 330 just yet.

DrySmart Diesel 500 drying a fire damaged house

DrySmart is drying a home that had a fire. The house was soaked from the fire department, and DrySmart was called in to dry the structure, prevent mold, and save 3 rooms of hardwood flooring. After 24 hours on the job, the flooring is progressing nicely. It is expected that the floor will meet a dry standard after no more than 72 hours. All this is being achieved with no power to the home and a sizable hole in the roof, which is covered with a tarp.

EGR Management partners with IMACC

EGR Management has partnered with IMACC to create a job training program for the restoration industry. The pilot program is ongoing with 43 students who have been gathered from various smaller youth programs under the umbrella of the Detroit Youth Workforce Development Program. The students are being trained in water damage and fire damage restoration and will soon sit for the IICRC certification exams for those subjects. They are also going to train on lead awareness, Xactimate estimating and claims documentation in the coming weeks. EGR Management is providing WRT and FSRT test prep training for the students and we are excited to see the students progressing well in the program. Students are 18 to 20 years old and had to pass a screening process to enter the training program. The students will be ready to join the restoration industry with an advanced skill set in early May.

DrySmart will be demonstrating our Diesel 500 convection heat drying unit on Thurday February 2nd in Fairfield, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati. We will be at Ohio Valley Restoration at noon to show how heat drying can improve your water damage drying times and help your business. DrySmart convection heat drying units are on the job in the Detroit area! Our DrySmart Diesel 500 unit dried an apartment building crawl space in Canton, Michigan over the New Year’s holiday. In December, our Diesel 500 dried two whole house water damages in Bloomfied and Hazel Park. The smaller house was completely dry in one day! And tomorrow one of our units will be heading to Dundee for a large loss drying job. DrySmart convection heat drying works!
